#74 Ahoy! (Paper Playtime Challenge#5) Queen!!!

Here's what the card looks like when you first look at it. Peek a boo!

Here's what the card looks like when you pull out the wave with the octopus floating.

Ahoy! The sea monster!
The outer part of the card.

I am so happy to be Queen for a week at Paper Playtime (Paper Playtime challenge 5) for this weeks challenge it's Ahoy Matey!  I decided to make a b-day card for a little boy (or girl) using CAC for the octopus I wanted the octopus to look like a sea monster lurking on the waves, so that's why I made him blue to blend in with the water and  I embossed with my Cuttlebug, I also embossed the title. The wave attached to the octopus is from LAB. I cut 3 layers for everything because I didn't want anything to rip as you pull it out of the pocket. I made the pocket card by cutting a 5 1/2 x 5 1/2 inch card in half diagonally to make a triangle, then I glued only one side of the triangle so that I can make a pocket. To make the waves on the pocket part I ripped 3 strips of paper then I used my Broken China distress ink on the waves and octopus.

#73 California Dreamin frame (Challenge 5 w/ Joanna)

Here's how the frame looks laying down, also you can see where I painted the inside and outside with black acrylic paint.

The challenge of the week! Pink glittery sunglasses with blue diamonds from Paisley.

This is what the frame looks like when it's standing on the leg attached to the frame.

A close up of the the title, butterfly and palm tree.

For my 5th challenge with my sister  Joanna I chose to make the sunglasses from Paisley. I had so many ideas of what I wanted to do so I finally decided to make a frame. I bought the frame from Michael's. I cut each object 4 times including once on chipboard, the sunglasses are from Paisley, title is from LAB and the butterfly is from a Martha Stewart punch. I put everything in my xyron sticker machine then sprinkled with Martha Stewart glitter. I painted the inside and outside of the frame with black acrylic paint. For the glasses I put glossy accents on the black part to make it look like real shades! I put 3 blue diamonds on each sides of the glasses.

#72 Grill King Father's Day Card

I cut all images from EPD on mostly white paper to make it fast, and I use chalk to color everything. The background paper is from DCWV paper stack, it's the kitchen stack. I create smoke above the grill with some doodling and gray chalk, and stamped sentiment.

#71 Father's Day family card

I cut the tags from PS, the family from GP and the oval tag for title from FF. This was a very quick and easy card I colored in the baby's diaper with a white gel pen and used Fired Brick distress ink around the tags, then put a strip of red floss across the bottom.

#70 Posh nail polish gift bag (Throwback Thursday Challenge)

For this weeks challenge we had to use PDDU I cut the monster girl and tiara from PDDU and the purse is from FY. I ran the monster and her tiara in my xyron and then put Martha Stewart glitter on it. For the "posh" I put glue then glitter. On both sides of the purse I put 3 glue dots then more glitter. I was trying to figure out what to put in here and I realized that 3 bottles of nail polish fit!!! Very exciting, I think I discovered a new gift to give to people. I used my Gypsy and cut the image to fit a 12x12 paper, it only needed about 12x6 or so. Perfect! Check out Emma's blog at Throwback Thursday

#53 Mexican Fiesta LO (3rd Challenge w/Joanna)

This was the 3 rd challenge with my sister Joanna  http://scrap-making.blogspot.com/  This time I choose, I choose this dress from Paisley I thought it was so cute and I was going to do something completely different with this cut. I wanted to make a paper doll with this dress but I didn't think it looked right so I did this instead. I'm pretty happy with the outcome. I CB'd the dress and did some distressing and added gold and green stickles to it since I didn't feel like cutting a shadow...yep I get lazy with my scrapbooking sometimes! I stickled the yellow Prima flower on the left side.  "Party Time" is from Stamping I also added gold stickles to the entire outline. The border flag thing on the bottom is from Give a Hoot, I added some red bling to the tops of the flags. "Fiesta" was cut from SB on white paper I drew the outline with a red pen and colored the inside with a yellow marker. The red patterened paper is from the Citrus stack from Joann's. I  added a strip of red lace ribbon to the middle and used my corner punch for the fiesta flyer that I got when I bought my ticket to this show.

#52 Stone Island LO

I wanted this LO to look fresh, fresh like the water. I cut the swirly's and the frame from SB the font is PS. On the frame I added silver stickles to a darker blue paper. The glittery blue  patterened paper is from the Spring Glitter Stack from Joann's.

#51 The Best Guacamole LO

This was truly the best guacamole we've ever had in our lives, even my son thought so and he was only 10 months! In this pic he has guac right on the tip of his nose so of course I had to scrap it! The scallop square is AA, the star is HD, the title is ACY, the tag left of the star is AA. I had fun making this LO, I painted the beige paper with some green paint. I added  brown polk a dot ribbon and green buttons to top of the page. The Mexico flag is a sticker fom K & Company. "Guacamole" and the chips and dip on the tag are stamps....yes I had a chips and dip stamp, I totally did not plan that out I just got lucky LOL!. I was feeling glittery so I stickled the chips and dip stamps, the swirls on the star and also sticked the title. I used a border punch on both of the green papers. Then I added some glimmer mist spray. Unfortunately i sprayed all over my son's face =(             I am a bad mom! He looks like he has dirt on his face, live and learn...next time I will cover pictures with something before I go crazy with the spray, that stuff does not come off pictures!

#50 Taxi LO

I know I know I did a pink girly page even though my DH is in it! I am terrible, I am surrounded by males...my DH, DS and my 2 dogs LOL I deserve a pink page every now and then! Ha ha oh well! These are what the taxi's look like in Mazatlan Mexico. The taxi is from EPDDU I welded the scallop to the golf car's ceiling to look like my pics with my Gypsy girl! the title is from GP. I did some random stamping with a flower stamp and I also stamped cars as a border. I added 2 different brown ribbons and cut a border with my funky scissors. On the bottom right corner I did some hand stitching and added to buttons for an extra touch! While I was doing this LO I was thinking of my hot pink Barbie car when I was a kid....LOL some of the things I think about when I scrap it's amazing!

#49 Baby's 1st Boat Ride

For this LO I cut the blue frame from Wild Card, boat from GW, and font from AMU. I did some distressing all over the page and stamped a black swirl  by the boat to look like water. I then colored in the stamped image with a blue marker and used some blue stickles over the stamped image. I also did the same thing to the compass by the title. I got a piece of school paper for journaling. For the final touch I sprayed some glimmer mist all over the LO. When I did this I was thinking of a pirates map for inspiration LOL!
