#147 My 1st Mother's Day

I am so happy with the way this page came out, it is something totally different than what I was orginally going to do. This is a pic of me and my son when he was 7 months old also My 1st Mother's Day! The 3 yellow cuts are from A Child's Year, the flower border with the brads are from Gypsy Wanderings, the banner and "Mother's Day" are from Country Life. For those of you who haven't read my previous posts...I highly reccommend getting the Country Life cart, it is so freaking cute there are so many feature's on it so keep an eye out because I will be using that cart a lot! There are so many different banners and banenr flags on there. I poked holes in the banner and hand stitched with white embroidery floss and added some black stickers and 2 blue brads at the ends. The journaling tag is a piece of patterened paper from Bo Bunny and I just cut the scvallop out since it was perfect it says 'the 5 ways you make me smile'. I made this layout for the following challenges:

Creative Scrapper's- Make a Layout following Sketch #123 (I flipped a few things around!)
Fantabulous Cricut- Make a project with stitching on it

#146 My Hero

This is a page that I did for my handsome hot husband of mine!! This is when he was in the Marine's, also around the time when we 1st met, it was love at first sight....seriously! We fell in love with eachother instantly! I am making him a scrapbook of when he was in the Marine's, sadly I wasn't into scrapbooking in 2003 and I didn't take very many pics while he was in the Marine Cor. I really regret that =(    The tag I made is from Stand and Salute I tied a piece of wire/string to it. I added some buttons and some staples, the embellishments are handmade I actually didn't use my cricut for those. I did some distressing here and some embossing with the Fiskars Texturing Tool, I think I bought it at Target or Michael's (I see them everywhere). I wanted to emboss on the page but my 12x12 page doesn't fit in the cuttlebug, so I put the Fiskars plate under the paper and started rubbing the paper with the tool. Here's a link http://www.amazon.com/Fiskars-School-Office-Division-12-57777097/dp/B000FPYQ8W

I made this LO for the challenge at My Sheri Crafts for the Masculine theme, I think this is very masculine what do you think?? I just love looking at these old pics of my honey it brings back memories of when we were dating.

#145 Two Months baby layout

For this layout I cut the sock monskey from B is for Boy, the 2 yello scallop corners are from Plantin Schoolbook I added a flower button to each of them. The tabs underneath the pics are from From my Kitchen I put letter stickers on them as my title, these are all pics when my son turned 2 months....only 2 months and so much personality! The large index card on top where I did my journaling is from From My Kitchen I added some rub-on borders to it and a Prima flower with a button.  For all the borders I punched them from a border punch and added a strip of blue stripped ribbon.

#144 Love

I made this layout based on the Sep. 24th sketch at  Sassy Lil' Sketches and also at Cuttlebug Challenge theme this week is to make a project with 2 or more buttons and a bow.  My 2 green buttons are on the top left next to the swirly that I cut from Birthday Cakes Cartridges, and the bows are on the bottom on the clothes line, they are tiny yellow bows. I cut the elephant from Holiday Cakes cartridge and embossed with my Cuttlebug and added Stickles to the ear. I cut the title in the middle from Home Accents and embossed and glittered that also. I cut the baby clothes line from Wall Decor and More and I also embossed and glittered that too. I added a white silk flower with a green brad and did my journaling on the sides just like the sketch at Sassy Lil' Sketches!

#143 Bountiful fall Card

I created this card for a few challenges I will list them below this post. First off I would like to say that I highly recommend all of you Cricut Cartridge addicts (LOL! Like me) to buy the new Country Life cart it is so cute and amazing....there is so many cute cuts and sayings on there I was very amazed and impressed when I was looking through the handbook I just got it 2 days ago. The title is from Country Life, the wagon is from a Child's Year, the pumpkins are from Gypsy Wanderings. I embossed the wagon with my cuttlebug and added stickles to the pumpkins and the silk flower. Here's a tip ladies....if you want some very affordable flowers just go to the dollar store and buy a silk flower bouqet and remove all plastic parts and there you have it, a beautiful flower perfect for cards and scapbook layouts!! Very cost effective, the only down side is you might have to iron your flower. I ironed this flower it didn't take very long, I hate ironing I don't remember last last time that I ironed I couldn't even remember how to turn it on LOL no joke!! Well at least I have a new purpose for it and I need to find a home for it in my scrapbook room and also find a very small ironing board! I hope that helps you!  Now for the challenges:

Always Crafting  for this challenge my friend Stephanie has a new challenge every WED. this week it is to make something that inspires you. So this card totally inspired me when I went to my parents house the other night for my dad's b-day dinner, while I was eating I noticed my mom pulled out her fall decor and right in front of me I saw a wagon with pumpkins in it!! Yep I told my mom right there and then that I was going to make a card out of it....she was amazed, she said "Really, how? How can you make a card from something like that?!?" I  was laughing and smiling and I said "Just watch!" Wow I feel like that was a challenge/compliment LOL! I will give her that card for Halloween or Thanksgiving she will be shocked that I did it!

Fantabulous Cricut challenge is to make something with the fall gardening theme. When I got my country Life cart I saw this title and automatically thought of Fall veggies like pumpkin, squash, etc.

Jitterbuggin challenge this week is to follow the sketch, use plaid, and have something Fall on it. I tried to follow the sketch as much as possible, I just had to flip my card horizontal so my long title could fit.

#142 Spooky Drippy Candle Card

I made this Halloween card for the BBTB2Challenge which is to make a project with the drippy candle from my favorite Halloween cart, October 31st! I welded the zig zag shaped square from Gypsy Wanderings to make a 5x5 card. I also cut it in 2 more colors and did some stamping, and added two green buttons to the left side. I am also entering this card to Getting Cricky for the Halloween challenge.

#141 My New Job As Mommy

Hello everyone!!! I'm so sorry that I haven't posted anything in a while I haven't been feeling very creative lately and I've been a couch potato all week long LOL! Well at least I am catching up on all my shows! I actually made this for the Fantabulous cricut challenge last week which was to make a job themed project but I never got around to posting it. I am also trying to use up some of my non-cricut supplies so I did part of the title with stickers and the rest I cut with Pooh Font and put silver Micro beads on it. The deer is from Give A Hoot I put white Martha Stewart glitter on it. I cut the butterflies from Serenade and put the gems on it with my i-rock. The scallop square is from Accent Essentials and I added 4 green metallic brads next to the picture. I added ribbon, metal accents (shown in the pic above) and cut a scallop border with my funky scissors. I drew a swirly line and did my journaling on it. I am entering this LO to the challenge this week at Paper Cutz their theme this week is to create a project with a critter on it, my critter is the momma deer!

#140 1st Easter Layout

Here's my baby boy on his 1st Easter ever in 2008! He's not really good with taking pics LOL, it comes and goes, anyways I still had to make a layout of his 1st Easter. The bunny holding the flower is from Create a Critter, the eggs are from the Easter 2010 cartridge, 1st is from Heritage and Easter is from Designer's Calendar. I stamped the talk bubble next to the bunny and did my journaling there. I used my corner frame punch and put them in the corners next to the eggs and added yellow buttons next to them. I also put some ribbon and 2 white grommets with my crop a dile.

#139 So Happy Tree Layout

Here's a LO I made of my son when he was only 2 weeks old, my mother in law came to visit us and see her new grandson. I've been wanting to make a LO with a giant tree on it so I did finally!! The tree and  bird are from GAH, I put MS Micro Beads on the bird and the title. The Title is from Pooh Font and also Walk in My Garden, I put lots of brads and buttons on the tree and did some stamping on the left side.

#138 Haunted sign card

I made this haunted, spooky and scary lightpost sign for the Cricut Cardz Challenge, which is to make a Halloween card with any card feature from any cartridge. The sign is the card feature from Mini Monsters it is cut at 5x7 but I thought it was way to skinny and small so I went ahead and just glued it to an actual card and stamped the pumpkin which says "Trick or Treat" the cut him out. I also added stickles to the light and to the word scary. I used my i-rock to adhere the green bling on the front of the card.

#137 Scary Scarecrow Card

For this week at  Paper Playtime everyone is asked to make any project with the theme "Autmn" in mind, you may translate this in any way. We were sponsored by Robyn's Fetish Digi stamps/papers. I chose to use a Halloween Digi Paper that was my very 1st time using a digi patterened paper I have to say it was pretty cool! The orange background paper was the digi paper, the marquee and the oval tag are from Gyspy Wanderings, the very scary scarecrow in from the October 31st cartridge. Instead of cutting him completely out....which my cricut doesn't do so well with detail cuts....anyways I went over the small detailed parts with a black marker, so in a way it kinda looks like a stamp. I embossed the Marquee with my cuttlebug and inked it with white Dew Drop ink. I stamped the sentiment which says "Happy Haunting" and colored in with an orange marker and added stickles. I also inked the edges with black chalk ink.

#136 Baby Crawls A lot Layout

This pic is when my son first started crawing, I caught him crawling all over his crib one day. The title and the ticket booth are from the new Cricut Lite Carousel cartridge I welded the crawling baby with my Gypsy. The baby is from A Child's Year. I stamped the rest of the title and did my journaling on one of the tickets on the top right corner. The paper I used is from K&Company Too 360 stack, I wanted it to look movie/carnival themed. I also did some inking with distress ink and added a metal tag with some brads.

#135 Eeek! Black Widow Card

Yesterday morning I went to the Dollar Tree and got a package of already cut foil to try embossing in my Cuttlebug. I originally thought of this from shopping on Oh My Crafts, they sell metal for embossing and I was thinking hey, foil could work and it did! I embossed the entire silver background (the Foil) with a skull scroll embossing folder that I got on clearance at Oh My Crafts, the scary black widow is from the October 31st cart I added 4 pieces of red bling on it to look like a real black widow. Unfortunately I know exactly what they look like because I get them scary suckers in my back yard and my front yard since I live in the dry/hot part of So. California =( I'd rather buy Cricut Cartridges then pay for an exterminator.....that is sad I am risking my life for Cricut Carts!LOL, Luckily there's Raid and thats cheap!! Oh and another tip, I tried cutting the foil with my paper trimmer and it ripped! So make sure to trim with your scissors!!

So I guess you can say that Opposites Attract was my very first cartridge that I've ever bought LOL! #132 Cuter than Most Layout for Practical scrappers

I made this layout for Practical Scrapper's their challenge this week is to make something with white core cardstock. I made this cute and funny layout of my son's baby butt, yep I said it a layout of butt LOL!!! I found the perfect stamp that says "Cuter Than Most"...meaning his baby booty! I censored it with scrap paper for the internet. The large heart border is from Wall decor and More, the baby is from New Arrival I stamped the face with Peachy Keen Stamps, the scallop circle is from Sugar and Spice...you can find that cut also on Accent Essentials. I embossed the heart border inside and out with my cuttlebug, then I sanded down to expose the white core cardstock of the blue paper. I did my journaling in a circle around the baby and added a heart brad to the baby and elephant brads to the heart border, I also did a little faux stitching at the bottom and added some blue buttons and a little sticker that says "Diaper Duty".

#131 1st Train Ride

Here's a close up of my son's funny faces and the train from CAC!

I had a blast making this layout, I've been wanting to do a train themed layout for my son's baby album for so long after 4 hours I finally got it done...lots of interruptions from my 2 year old LOL! I was able to submit this layout to a lot of different challenges out there right now I post them at the end of this. I cut the large cloud on patterend paper, the little clouds, the stars I inked then layered and attached a pop dot, the train and all animals notice the peanut driving the train LOL, added bling with my i-rock to the wheels and pop dots underneath the animals and stamped they're faces with Peachy Keen stamps, these are all from Create a Critter. The "1st" is from All Mixed Up I attached them with a skinny ribbon/yard type of fiber it's beige with teeny tiny balls all over it I don't know what it's called but it's cute! I purposely added blue and white striped paper under the train so it looks like it's on a track. The tag and flower where I did my journaling by the cloud is from Gypsy Wanderings I put a brad on the flower. I corner punched a blue paper and put it on the right photo, the black letter stickers a great on a tight spot, they are Making Memories.

#130 Quite the Pear Card

For this week's challenge at Frosted Designs they are challenging us to use a photo for inspiration, right away when I first saw it I thought of the colors green and white. I decided to make a card for a special friend of mind who just celebrated an anniversary I originally made a different card for her but never sent it out because I didn't like it...I hope you like this one Janis!! I cut the green card base from Sweethearts cut at 5.15x5.15 on my gypsy and cut the marquee from Gypsy Wanderings, the pears are from my free Home Accents cart hooray for Cricut rewards!! I rolled my brayer through my antique linen distress ink then put it on the cuttlebug plate the embossed the marquee. I punched the entire outside borders of the card with a MS punch and also punched the butterfly. I stamped the sentiment and added stickles to it and bling to the pear leaves and one on the butterfly.

#129 Ghouls Just wanna have fun Card

I was so happy when Christina asked me to be a guest designer for her challenge this week for the ribbon and bling theme. I was actually the first person to win her first challenge ever, you can see the winner here, I do this for fun and not for winning! I wanted to do something a little bit different this time so I made a really long 8x4 inch card and rolled some ribbon on the left side. I punched a lacy border from a MS punch and stamped the sentiment on a tag from Once Upon A Princess and added bling with my new toy the i-rock I highly recommend it!! I also added bling to the border. I cut the circle and scallop circle from AE and embossed with my cuttlebug. For the cutie Ghoul I cut her from Mini Monsters, that was my 1st monster cut out I've been missing out, the layering is easy! I added googly eyes kinda crooked on purpose she is a Ghoul afterall LOL, I inked the tag with purple dew drop chalk ink. Come join in on the fun at Card Creations and More for a chance at a cool giveaway!!

#128 It's Gets Better sunflower card THINK PINK!

Here's the card next to envelope.

I made this card for the challenge at Cricut Me That which is in honor of Breast Cancer Awarness month so the theme is THINK PINK. I made this card and envelope from  the Just Because Cartridge except I didn't use the title that came with it. I found this perfect stamp to go with it at Michael's today in the $1 bin, I added bling with my new i-rock and some punched MS butterflies. The card and envelope were cut at 4 1/4x 4 1/4.

Castles, Knights & Damsels in Distress themed cards

I am Queen at  Paper Playtimethis week and the theme is Castles, Knights & and Damsels in Distress, you may interpret any way you want stamps, digis, Cricut or anything else. Digital Delights  by Louby Lou Digital delights by Louby Louwere so kind to make the DT  some digi's for us to play with this week. I chose to make a birthday card for a boy and a girl except I had total scrapper's block this whole week since my hubby has left to Iraq =(  so I am not 100% happy with the way the dragon card came out, I like the princess one more! For the princess card I cut a piece of heart paper and layered with pink and white paper and added purple brads, colored with pencils and added some stickles. For the dragon card I stamped all 3 desserts and cut them out, I also colored everything with pencils, I am trying different techniques here with coloring stamps and digis.

#127 Birthday Blinged Out Forest Tree gift card holder

Attached the gift card to the back of the blue paper.
I am going to write on the blue paper next to the tree.

This week my sweet dear friend Stephanie and her friend Nicole at  Always Craftinghaving a challenge to use bling, buttons and/or brads....I chose bling!! Yay I used my i-rock to put bling in the tree and also 2 purple blings under the cloud and added a pop dot. I stamped the tree in green and cut it out and stamped the black tree and the sentiment. The scallop rectangle and pink bird are from Wild Card, the cloud is from Give a Hoot which is really a flower layer. To make this card it was easy I just folded my 8.5x11 inch in half and cut it to be 5 inches so it is 4 1/4 x 5 to make the opening I used my circle border punch but only cut less than half. I glued the 2 sides down and only glued half of the top, so that the gift card holder will fit.  The blue paper was cut at 4 1/4x 4 then I punched with my corner punch. I am going to write on the side where I stamped the tree and I adhered the gift card to the back of the blue card. I am also submitting this Cricut cardz because their theme is to use a scallop shape I chose rectangle! I also submitted to wee memories for their forest theme this week.

#126 Spooky Pumpkin Patch Card

For Momo's challenge this week it is to make something with black and white and any color of our choice. I made a spooky pumpkin patch card from the october 31st cartridge I love how scary that one is! I didn't want to make this too girly because I'm thinking of giving it to my hubby, what do you think too girly? Is it manly enough? I might make another one instead not sure yet. The black paper was embossed with my Cuttlebug, the pumpkins and the sign are from OCT 31st instead of punching out the letters I drew in the letters with a black marker, sometimes my cricut doesn't cut fine stuff correctly and I get mad!! I did some inking with my Frayed Burlap distress ink and stamped the sentiment and colored it in and I added a brad on the sign.

#125 The City (Fantabulous Cricut, Alphabet Challenge)

For this weeks challenge at Fantabulous Cricut the theme is travel/road trip and the theme at Alphabet challenge is S for scallops it's to make anything with a scallop shape. I used to live in the san Francisco Bay area a few years ago and I am making a scrapbook with the "Living in San Francisco" theme, to show everything that we did while living there. All the locals call San Francisco "The City" to this day I still call it The city, a lot of people say that it's a little New York on the west coast. So now I will tell you about my project I used all old school carts LOL, the subway is called BART so I made myself a BART replica from Going Places and added 2 red buttons to look like lights. The font is from Opposites Attract, the scallop square is from Accent Essentials, the skyline is from Plantin Schoolbook I cut it on silver metallic paper. I added some Prima flowers, brads, did some distressing, and cut some little sayings from patterened paper on the bottom left side.
