#270 My First Silhouette Cameo Project!

Hi everyone!! I am so excited to share my first Silhouette Cameo project, my hubby got me a Cameo for  Christmas and I was completely shocked that he got me one it was a big surprise!! I will be makoing some changes to my blog in the upcoming 2012 year, meaning I will not just be posting Cricut only projects, I will also be using my Silhouette Cameo,  stamps, digi stamps, non die-cut machine projects, and of course Cricut projects! I have invested way too much $$ in my Cricut and cartridge library that I will NOT be getting rid of or selling, I am still a proud Cricut owner eventhough I have a new Cameo!

Ok I am in love with my Cameo, I mean it was completely hard for me at first to figure out their Free software, since I am so used to using SCAL 2, both of these are way different from eachother. I am NOT a tech savvy person at all I mean I couldn't even figure out how to but a free blog header on my blog for months ugh! Luckily my sweet, sweet friend Monica aka Simply Cricutting came to the rescue and offered to help change my blog isn't it cute!?! Thanks Monica you're the bomb, girl!!! Be sure to check out her blog HERE because she has been very busy making several Youtube videos about the Cameo, and she is the one who really convinced me to ask for one for christmas LOL! Good thing I listened haha!

Ok now onto my project....... I got this dress shaped card from the Silhouette store and added a button on the front, stamped the sentiment inside with an Inkadinkado stamp I've had in my stash forever! This card measures about 3.5x5 inches.

I signed up for the Silhouette store's monthly pass subscription for $16 a month I get $150 worth of image downloads basically for free! It averages out to be about .10 per design woo-hoo so awesome!! I am in download heaven overhere LOL! When you download their images from their store you can only use it with the Silhouette software, you can NOT use it with Scal3 or MTC!!!!!

Be sure to check out my blog tomorrow, I will be sharing a project I made using SCAL3 with my Cameo! FYI- if you already own SCAL2  you can upgrade to SCAL3 for FREE!!! And don't worry you still get to keep SCAL2 on your computer, I have both now but SCAL2 does NOT work with the Cameo!!!! You will need SCAL3 or another program if you want to cut other company files that are NOT from the Silhouette store like SVG Attic, Lettering Delights, SVG Cuts, etc.

I am so sorry this post was very long, I am just trying to explain as much as I can about my experience with my Silhouette over the last couple days, since I know so many people are interested int this wonderful machine. So far I LOVE it, and I promise to learn how to do the print/cut feature and also to cut some very intricate stuff for you!

***This card is now for sale in my Etsy shop HERE with FREE SHIPPING!!!!!***

Happy NEW Year!!!!!

#262-269 Milk Carton Treat Boxes for SVG Attic Wednesday

Hi everyone! Today is my day to post for The SVG Attic and I made some very yummy homemade fudge and Reese's cookies to give as Christmas gifts this year. I just have to say that I LOVE this milk carton SVG box from the   FUN FAVORS SVG COLLECTION, it's huge! It holds all of this in one box! This was pretty easy to fold and glue together, I just used regular Elmer's school glue to adhere the boxes and they glued perfectly! I also placed clear transparencies inside the box on the circle shape and I stapled each box shut.

Here's the SVG set I used HERE! Be sure to come check out the SVG Attic Blog HERE!

For my ornament I used a Digi Stamp from Tiddly Inks and colored her with Prismacolor pencils. I used Martha Stewart glitter for the blue and white parts only and added silver ribbon to the backside to hang on a tree. To make this ornament more sturdy I layered it on 4 pieces of cereal box chipboard so it's pretty thick! You can use this ornament for other things too... like an embellishment for a mini album, scrapbook layout, etc. that's why I placed the ribbon behind the ornament!

Blog Candy!! I will be giving away my ornament here to one lucky follower who leaves me a comment here. I will select a random winner on Monday 12/19. This ornament is about 4x5 inches.

I hope you enjoyed the hop and Merry Christmas!!!

#257 Snowman Layout

Hi everyone today is my DT day over on the SVG Attic Blog, and I was so proud of myself for finally making a scrapbook layout! I have been neglecting my scrapbooks a lot lately, hopefully I can make a lot more in the future!!

For this layout I used a patterned paper for the background which had one large snowflake and some swirls it's from DCWV. The snowman is from the Build a Snowman Collection from SVG ATTIC isn't this set adorable!?! I stamped the face with Peachy Keen Winter Wonderland Faces.
I also used the All The Trimmings SVG set from SVG ATTIC for the 2 snowflakes and the title. I also added some ribbon and bling and embossed the snowman's hat and scarf with my Cuttlebug.

I cut all of the cards and envelopes at 4x4 inches. I stamped all of the faces with Peachy Keen Cute and Cuddly Faces and also Wide Eyed and Bushy Tailed Faces, of course I had to give them all blush and eyeshadow lol!!

#250 12 Days of Christmas Blog Hop DAY 12/ Doggie Christmas Gift!

Hi everyone welcome to the 12 Days of Christmas Blog HopDAY 12 hosted by Sylvia Bella Scrapbook Designs. If you are here from Sylvia's blog then you are in the right spot! This hop is all about making 12 different Christmas gifts 12 days in a row and the last day we will be posting is on December 6th.

Hi everyone I hope you are having a great day! Today is the last day of the 12 Days of Christmas Blog Hop! I made a Dog Christmas gift for my dogs I just love to spoil them even at Christmas time and plus I love watching them open their presents LOL! If you are trying to guess how my dogs open their presents, well we usually fill their stockings with treats, bones, pig ear raw hides, and toys and let them "dig" them out it's pretty funny and cute I think this year we will actually film them in action lol! It's so sweet hearing my son giggle and get excited watching the dogs open their presents!

I made this treat present using the Christmas Cards Cricut cartridge (I forgot I had that cart!) I cut the stocking from that cart and did some surgery on it since it only had the top layer and I wanted a red and white stocking! I cut 2 stockings on clear transparency paper I was able to fit 2 on one 8x8 sheet. My Cricut didn't cut all the way so I had to go back and cut the outline out with my Tim Holtz scissors, not bad since it's an easy cut! I stamped the sentiment using Scrappy Moms dog stamp set, and embossed the snowflakes with my Cuttlebug. I also added red/white twine, so this can even be a Christmas ornament too!

My son is so cute right away he said "Oooooh mommy made a dog cookie necklace!" awww the things 4 year olds say! he is so excited that I made the dog's a present lol! As I type my post Aidan is hanging this stocking on the tree and I can hear him say "No Boots, that's for later for Christmas!" I just had to mention that is so cute!!

Here's the back, I was only able to squeeze in 2 small dog treats without popping it open. I adhered the stocking with my ATG gun, I don't really recommend it, since it was popping open as soon as I fit the treats in. I think a hot glue gun, or a wet glue would have been better, or even a stapler.

I love this sentiment "You've got me wrapped around your Paw!" yes my dogs do! they are my little precious balls of fur LOL!

BLOG CANDY!! In honor of me creating 12 projects 12 days in a row, I will be celebrating by giving away ONE $10 gift certificate to one of my favorite online stores...... PEACHY KEEN STAMPS!!! All you have to do is leave me a comment on all 12 of my 12 Days of Christmas post and be a follower. The last day will be on December 6th. I will announce a random winner on Wed. 12/7 good luck!

NEXT STOP is PATTY

P.S. Be sure to check back TONIGHT at 9pm PST for the Crafty Sprouts blog hop, you won't want to miss it, everyone on the DT has something special to giveaway!!!!!!!

#249 12 Days of Christmas Blog Hop DAY 11/ Jack Skellington Cocoa Mug

***Please Scroll down for DAY 10***

Hi everyone welcome to the 12 Days of Christmas Blog HopDAY 11 hosted by Sylvia Bella Scrapbook Designs. If you are here from Sylvia's blog then you are in the right spot! This hop is all about making 12 different Christmas gifts 12 days in a row and the last day we will be posting is on December 6th.

For my 11th project I made a gift for a guy. I got the cocoa mug SVG and the Santa hat SVG from Lettering Delights. I made my own SVG file for the Jack Skellington cut by using this .gif image. I cut the files using my SCAL 2 along with my old Cricut Expression. I embossed only the front of the mug with my Cuttlebug using Duff's texture tiles (scroll down for more info!) I also inked up the snowflakes with white chalk ink.

Here's the inside, this SVG already had a spot to place the hot cocoa, I just added a glue dot underneath the cocoa to keep it in place.

Here's the back of the mug, for both sentiments I used CRAFTY SPROUTS STAMPS "Have A Cool Yule" right now she is having a sale all week long, all stamp sets including new releases are only $12.50 with FREE shipping!!!! Great deal, be sure to check them all out HERE! I love them they stamp so perfectly and the are the perfect size for all your projects!

Here's what the side looks like, I added pop dots under Jack Skellington, and also added a pop dot to close the mug together.

I recently figured out that "Duff's texture Tiles" work in the Cuttlebug!! I bought these at Michael's on clearance for $3 and you get 2 embossing folders and they emboss pretty good, not as good as Cuttlebug or Sizzix but pretty good as you can see in my project above! I actually did the de-bossed side instead of the embossed side make sense?

Here's the Cuttlebug recipe for the Texture Tiles, (I was too lazy to type it lol!) BTW the rubber mat I used was from Spellbinders embossing mat from Joann's or Michaels!

#248 12 Days of Christmas Blog Hop Day 10/ Easy! Christmas Ornament

Hi everyone welcome to the 12 Days of Christmas Blog HopDAY 10 hosted by Sylvia Bella Scrapbook Designs. If you are here from Sylvia's blog then you are in the right spot! This hop is all about making 12 different Christmas gifts 12 days in a row and the last day we will be posting is on December 6th.

I apologize for not posting the last 2 days, I have been very ill and pretty much in bed all day long :(  Luckily I am finally feeling much better and I will be posting Day 11's project later this evening thank you!

For today's gift I made something super fast that I think came out great! I made a Christmas ornament using the Serenade Solutions Cricut cartridge, the size is about 3x 4.5 inches, I cut it out on 3 layers of cereal box chipboard, and also for a 4th time I cut it out on gray cardstock. I placed the gray cardstock piece of the bird upside down in my Xyron sticker machine and poured Martha Stewart Christmas glitter all over it. I punched a small hole using my Crop a dile and tied a circle of embroidery floss through it to hang on the tree.

As soon as I was finished my son said he wanted to put it on our "Big" tree lol! No kidding it's 7 1/2 feet tall, and guess what I almost broke our tree while decorating it (don't ask LOL!) luckily my hubby was able to fix it, but I had to re-decorate the entire tree all over again because  of the way he fixed the tree all the "good" ornaments were facing the back. So it's like I decorate to huge tree's this year lol! Can you spot where I place my new ornament below??

BLOG CANDY!! In honor of me creating 12 projects 12 days in a row, I will be celebrating by giving away ONE $10 gift certificate to one of my favorite online stores...... PEACHY KEEN STAMPS!!! All you have to do is leave me a comment on all 12 of my 12 Days of Christmas post and be a follower. The last day will be on December 6th. I will announce a random winner on Wed. 12/7 good luck!
