#40 Sweet Angel Shaped Card

Hi everyone! Here's my 2nd Scrappy Moms Stamps sneak peek. I feel so horrible for not being able to craft much lately I don't know where my creativity has gone lately! I guess it's because my mind has been on a bunch of different things like my hubby is currently deployed in Afganistan I am so anxious for him to be home already this is our first deployment that we've had 2 kids. My baby girl is turning 1 already on Easter Day! Also, if you are a FACEBOOK FRIEND of mine you will know that I have been working extremely hard at losing weight! I started my weight loss journey on Jan. 18th and so far I have lost 32.4 lbs and also 2 dress sizes woooo-hoooooo!!!! I am actually thinking of posting my weight loss stuff/journey here on my blog or maybe create a separate blog I'm just not sure what to do! I  feel like this is just a scrapbooking blog but at the same time I get so inspired to hear about other crafty people's weight loss success so we'll see ;)

I decided to make a shaped card for this week's KaDoodle Bug Designs Facebook Challenge which is "Shaped Cards Challenge Week" I found this shaped card freebie on Birds' Cards Blog, and I used the KBD "Angel of Love" pattern for the heart, angel and cloud. I embossed the background using a butterfly swirl embossing folder for my Cuttlebug and stamped the sentiment using NEW SMS "From The Inside Out 2" stamp set. The face stamp I used is from the PKS 450-Wide Eyed Kids Assortment

Here are the new stamp sets available today in the SMS Store!

Ahoy matey, here is me project for this hop.

For my pirate card I made a shaped card using my ART PHILOSOPHY Cricut cartridge for the shape and the very cute Teddy Bear Parade Cartridge! These 2 carts go so good together since Art Philosophy has 100 card shapes... yes 100!! That's a whole lotta cards LOL! I have really been trying to stock up on my birthday cards since those are always the first to go. I stamped the sentiment "Walk the Plank" using Pink By Design stamps, and the inside says "It's Yarrrrr Birthday!" I thought this would be perfect for any little boy and I guess I was right because my son saw it and instantly thought it was his LOL! I embossed the white papers using a Tim Holtz woodgrain stamp and inked it up and crumbled the blue paper and also inked it up.

I thank ye for stopping by me ship and now ye is to journey on to  SYLVIA's

The stamp sentiment is from Scarppy Moms its one of my fav's! The drippy chocolate is actually from my drippy goo punch, I love having double chocolate on my smore's mmmmm!! #44-46 Getting Crafty with the Cameo Blog Hop

Hi everyone welcome to the Getting Crafty with the Cameo Blog Hop hosted by the wonderful talented KRISTY!!! If you are here from CANDACE's blog you are in the right spot! This is going to be a super fun hop all about the most awesome cutting machine EVER.... the Silhouette Cameo!

There is so much blog candy to be won on this hop, all you have to do is leave a comment on all the blogs and stop by each Facebook page of each of our sponsors and let them know we sent you! Here's a list of prizes:

Project 1: Halloween Layout
For those of you who read my blog and Facebook know that I have been working very hard to finish my 2010 scrapbook album before my baby arrives here in about 2 weeks! So I decided it would be a great excuse to buy some very cool Halloween files from the Silhouette store to make my layout. The title and the pumpkin/spiderweb border were all from my Cameo. They are very very intricate and super skinny but they cut out so perfect! I also added some Lavendar Stickles to the font, "Raven" colored Glimmer Mist, and some chunky fabric brads, the stamp sentiment is from Scrappy Moms Stamps. The grey crinkle ribbon here was hand dyed by myself!

Project 2: I Love You Anniversary Shaped Card
I made this card pretty large about 5x7 for my hubby for our Anniversary which was on 2.28 well, I haven't given it to him yet since he's been on deployment the last 4 months, luckily I will see him next Friday and I can't wait! I hope he likes his "guy" card! I also embossed everything with my Cuttlebug.

Project 3: Altered Composition Notebook
I made this altered composition notebook for my best friend Melyssa's birthday, she loves yellow, pink and owls! It looks really complicated but it was super EASY!! This gift took me about 30 minutes or less! I also added a rosette, black tulle and buttons. I embossed the letters with my Cuttlebug.

BLOG CANDY!!!!!!! I am giving away 3 yards of the gray crinkle ribbon hand dyed by yours truly! (This is the same color ribbon I used in my Halloween layout above) All you have to do is be a follower and leave me a comment telling me which one is your favorite project here! I will announce a winner on Monday 3/26! Good luck!

Here's a list by name of all the Silhouette files I used in my projects:
-Owl Cutout
-matchbox notebook note overlay
-i love you card
-halloween border
-happy halloween phrase

#270 My First Silhouette Cameo Project!

Hi everyone!! I am so excited to share my first Silhouette Cameo project, my hubby got me a Cameo for  Christmas and I was completely shocked that he got me one it was a big surprise!! I will be makoing some changes to my blog in the upcoming 2012 year, meaning I will not just be posting Cricut only projects, I will also be using my Silhouette Cameo,  stamps, digi stamps, non die-cut machine projects, and of course Cricut projects! I have invested way too much $$ in my Cricut and cartridge library that I will NOT be getting rid of or selling, I am still a proud Cricut owner eventhough I have a new Cameo!

Ok I am in love with my Cameo, I mean it was completely hard for me at first to figure out their Free software, since I am so used to using SCAL 2, both of these are way different from eachother. I am NOT a tech savvy person at all I mean I couldn't even figure out how to but a free blog header on my blog for months ugh! Luckily my sweet, sweet friend Monica aka Simply Cricutting came to the rescue and offered to help change my blog isn't it cute!?! Thanks Monica you're the bomb, girl!!! Be sure to check out her blog HERE because she has been very busy making several Youtube videos about the Cameo, and she is the one who really convinced me to ask for one for christmas LOL! Good thing I listened haha!

Ok now onto my project....... I got this dress shaped card from the Silhouette store and added a button on the front, stamped the sentiment inside with an Inkadinkado stamp I've had in my stash forever! This card measures about 3.5x5 inches.

I signed up for the Silhouette store's monthly pass subscription for $16 a month I get $150 worth of image downloads basically for free! It averages out to be about .10 per design woo-hoo so awesome!! I am in download heaven overhere LOL! When you download their images from their store you can only use it with the Silhouette software, you can NOT use it with Scal3 or MTC!!!!!

Be sure to check out my blog tomorrow, I will be sharing a project I made using SCAL3 with my Cameo! FYI- if you already own SCAL2  you can upgrade to SCAL3 for FREE!!! And don't worry you still get to keep SCAL2 on your computer, I have both now but SCAL2 does NOT work with the Cameo!!!! You will need SCAL3 or another program if you want to cut other company files that are NOT from the Silhouette store like SVG Attic, Lettering Delights, SVG Cuts, etc.

I am so sorry this post was very long, I am just trying to explain as much as I can about my experience with my Silhouette over the last couple days, since I know so many people are interested int this wonderful machine. So far I LOVE it, and I promise to learn how to do the print/cut feature and also to cut some very intricate stuff for you!

***This card is now for sale in my Etsy shop HERE with FREE SHIPPING!!!!!***

Happy NEW Year!!!!!
