#243 12 Days of Christmas Blog Hop Day 5 Vintage Altered Composition Book

Hi everyone welcome to the 12 Days of Christmas Blog Hop DAY 5 hosted by Sylvia Bella Scrapbook Designs. If you are here from Sylvia's blog then you are in the right spot!  This hop is all about making 12 different Christmas gifts 12 days in a row and the last day we will be posting is on December 6th.
This is the before picture of my sad, depressing composition book I got from the Dollar Tree!! LOL!

Here's the AFTER picture!! 100 times better then the before picture right ladies lol!

I covered the front and back of the book using 2 thin 12x12 sheets of K & Company patterned paper, I cut each piece into 9x12 inches and adhered with my ATG gun. I didn't feel like messing with modge podge! I added black ribbon to the side.

I stamped the sentiment "Listen to your heart" and frame using Tim Holtz stamps. I made this tulle flower myself and added a brad in the middle! I sprayed the frame with pink glimmer mist and added distress ink.

Dress form on left is from Forever Young Cricut cartridge, and the other 2 are from Summer in Paris seasonal Cricut cart. I added black Onyx Martha Stewart glitter to them, and added bling with my i-rock only to the larger dress form.

Here's a tag/bookmark I made I stamped the Eiffel tower using a Tim Holtz stamp, and added rose distress ink, and a pink silk flower that's from the $1 store, along with tulle and a black glitter button. I stamped the first page using a heart stamp from Joann's. I placed a paper clip behind the flower so that you can actually hold the bookmark in place.

Here's the inside flap of the book, you can see how I folded down the front paper and added black paper and a pink border strip which is also a pocket to hold stuff, here's an example of the pocket holding the bookmark I made.

I went a little crazy with my Black distress ink..... there's no such thing as too much distressing or glitter that's my motto LOL! I covered all of the outside pages with black distress ink too!

I hope you enjoyed today's gift I made, it was a true work of heart, only took me 3+ hours but worth it!! I was really glad to make something vintage it's been awhile!

BLOG CANDY!! In honor of me creating 12 projects 12 days in a row, I will be celebrating by giving away ONE $10 gift certificate to one of my favorite online stores......  PEACHY KEEN STAMPS!!! All you have to do is leave me a comment on all 12 of my 12 Days of Christmas post and be a follower. The last day will be on December 6th. I will announce a random winner on Wed. 12/7 good luck!

#101 Peachy Keen Guest Designer Day 5 /Mini Album

***Click HERE for the ROYAL DIGI EASTER HOP***

***Click HERE for my FIF DT project***

Hi everyone is Sandra here and I am so sad to announce that today is my last day as a Guest Designer for Peachy Keen Stamps, I am so glad that I was able to play along with the rest of the DT for their Let's Face It Friday Challenge. Since the theme for this week is "Mother's Day" I decided to make a mini album out of one single 12x12 piece of paper!! Woo-hoo I am so excited just looking at this mini it opens up like magic LOL!
Here's the front cover all flowers in this mini are from the Forever Young cart. I created my own sentiment with  KinderStampO stamps. I was originally going to make this to give to my mom for Mother's Day but I decided it was too cute to give away and instead I am going to put pictures of my son Aidan and I on Mother's Day. I know I am horrible, but hey I'm a mom too! I will probably make my mom a fancy/vintage themed one. All papers where from American Crafts and all faces where from  my all time favorite PK 640 Princess Face Assortment. I added ric rack under the flowers as stems and adhered a blue strip of ribbon to the back cover so it can tie together to close.

I double layered the flowers with pop dots for dimension.

This is what the book looks like when you first open it. For all of the pages I went with the same color scheme that was on my patterend paper. I added ribbon to all Kraft paper photo mats and some of the same flowers just alternated the colors. I wrote the sizes that way I can just add the pictures after Mother's Day. I stamped all sentiments with My Creative Time stamps and also stamped the little frames from a Martha Stewart stamp set.

*Note* You can zoom in the picture by clicking on it

Here's how the next part looks after opening the page that was pictured above this one. I love this paper set especially the pink wood grain paper and the bird paper.

On the back cover I stamped both flourishes and also you can see where I adhered the ribbon under the yellow paper which will wrap around to the fron to tie a bow.The final size of this mini is 6x6 with a total of 6 pages for decorating.

Now for some blog candy! I am giving away one PK 757-Wide Eyed Bushy Tailed Assortment all you have to do is leave me a comment , you do not have to be a follower but I would love it if you did! I will chose a Random winner on Saturday April 16th.

# 33 Love Is In The Air Blog Hop

Photobucket

Welcome to my Blog and the Love Is In The Air Blog Hop! If you've come from visiting Molly ARMY WIFE LEARNS THE CRICUT, you're in the right place. If you were just looking at my blog and want to play along with our blog hopping fun, you can start at the beginning at  http://www.crossmyhearpapercrafts.blogspot.com/. This blog hop is all about love themed ideas..

For my project I made a bouqet of roses from the Forever Young Cricut cartridge. I used all Valentine's Day themed paper from K & Co. Each rose has 3 different layers of flowers to complete each rose. I find the best way to adhere them together is with a hot glue gun. The can is a recycled Pineapple can can yum yum! I adhered the paper on the can with my ATG adhesive and it sticks perfectly. I added lace on top and bottom and cut each bamboo skewer in half since they were too long. Then after I bunched them all together I tied some pink lace to hold them together. I have been wanting to make this project for so long I have been storing it in my head for over a year now LOL! I am glad I finally did the work because I love the way it came out!

I made some green hearts for leaves. The hearts are from Plantin Schoolbook.

Now for some Blog Candy! I will give away a Brand New I-Rock to one lucky follower. Just leave me a comment telling me what type of handmade flowers you like to make. Also, please be sure to check back tomorrow for some more blog candy that I will be giving away on my Love At First Sight Blog Hop!

#24 Celebrating Our Milestone's Blog Hop

Photobucket

Hello everyone welcome the the fabulous Celebrating Our Milestone's Blog Hop hosted by Yolie from JUST Yolie. If you are here from Gaby's blog Gaby Creates then you are in the right spot. If you just arrived here and would like to start from the beginning please head over to Yolie's Blog HERE. Yolie asked us all to make either a scrapbook layout or a mini album to Celebrate's Life's Milestone's. I was so super excited when she asked me to join in her hop because I knew I instantly that I wanted to make a house mini album for my home. I always dreamed of being a homeowner one day, I would even tell my friends my goals in High School and I would always say that I wanted to buy a house by the time I was 25 years old, well I did it and I was exactly 25!! I felt so accomplished and to this day I still can not believe that my hubby and I are homeowner's. We got so lucky when we found this house because it had everything we were looking for (including a Scrapbook room!) and this was our #1 choice house and the bank said "Yes" to our offer!

Since I was unable to get my picture's developed in time here is a photo of our dream home!

Okay now onto my Mini album.....(I bought the Mini Album chipboard base from a Scrapbook Expo so I do not know the brand of the Mini Album)

This Mini album took me 8 hours to complete I think the end result was way better than I ever imagined it to be I am very satisfied. Now I just need to add some pictures and journaling in it. Enjoy!

Top close up view. I stamped the title sentiment on paper then layered on cereal box chipboard 4x times to make it really thick! Prima flowers, brads and large black and white metal flower(making memories),  silver butterfly-jewlery from Michaels', black bling, black sequin ribbon, black lace, black Acrylic Paint on every single page in book. All papers are from Michael's K& CO.

Left side, furry type of black ribbon, felt flowers from Michael's $1 bin, Making Memories metal tag. Right side, tag, black embroidery floss, fabric flower attached to patterend paper to make a pocket. Butterfly from MS punch and gray brad.

The Photo mat comes out, I can do my journaling on the back of it. I added bling to the photo mat, but you can't really see it.

Left side blank for photo. Right side, black Stickles, ric-rac, journaling "Dreams"tag, I plan on writing my future dreams, and plans for my house, for example my thoughts on my plans for my back yard I want a balcony, a pool, and a garden. The black flower  and brad is Making Memories, the white flower is a flower from the Wedding section at the Dollar store!

I love this page! Especially the butterfly! I used a Tim Holtz fragment along with Crackle to make the Charm.

Pearls and bling!

Here you can see my handmade charm and roses from the Forever Young Cricut Cartridge. I did some inking and added a pearl.

Left side added a photo mat, felt flowers, lace and metal corner embellishments from Making Memories. Right side, lace, ribbon, brad and Prima Flower.

Back Cover.

Side view of awesome yumminess LOL!

#174 Banana Bread Tag-Paper Playtime Challenge

***Click HERE for the I love the 80's Blog Hop!***

Hello everyone I hope you had a great weekend and are now ready for Thanksgiving and Christmas LOL! I think it's kinda funny how we jump from one holiday to the next without any breaks! Speaking of I made this banana bread loaf and tag for my mom which would be a great Christmas gift idea wink wink LOL! If you are new to my blog I am a Queen (Designer) at Paper Playtime and this weeks fabulous challenge is to make something with a clock, tag, or ticket fun huh! I had so many things I wanted to do for this challenge but I decided to go with a banana bread tag since my bananas were starting to get black. The tag is from Forever Young and the bread loaf is from From My Kitchen, I stamped the face with a Peachy Keen Stamp, stamped the sentiment, inked the edges punched a hole at the top and put my ribbon in and put a brown button on it. Oh yeah I almost forgot I cut tag on a Cereal box/chipboard to make the tag sturdy and I just put tape behind the tag and taped it to the plastic wrap over the banana bread. My mom loved it so much, she especially loved how I stamped the faces! I love the face that is already cut with the sad face LOL, it's saying Ahhh, uh-oh, oh no! I'm a dork LOL, don't mind me when I talk to myself ha ha! So anyways we are sponsored this week by Doodle Pantry and don't forget to join in our challenge at Paper Playtime for the clocks, tag, or ticket challenge! I am also entering in The Paper Players Challenge which is "Anything Goes".

#114 Purse Birthday Card (Party Time Tuesdays)

For this weeks birthday challenge at Party Time Tuesday's we had to make a birthday card using the colors pink, brown and white.  Since I got FY a while back ago I've been dying to make a purse card so I finally made it happen LOL! I used my Gypsy to weld the 2 purses together and cut on white cardstock, then added a layer of patterened paper, the card fits perfectly in a 5x7 envelope.  I embossed the flower and leaves with my Cuttlebug then added stickles and a brown button. The tag is also from Forever Young which I stamped with a sentiment (To make it look like a price tag) the attached ribbon to the tag and the bottom of the card.

#70 Posh nail polish gift bag (Throwback Thursday Challenge)

For this weeks challenge we had to use PDDU I cut the monster girl and tiara from PDDU and the purse is from FY. I ran the monster and her tiara in my xyron and then put Martha Stewart glitter on it. For the "posh" I put glue then glitter. On both sides of the purse I put 3 glue dots then more glitter. I was trying to figure out what to put in here and I realized that 3 bottles of nail polish fit!!! Very exciting, I think I discovered a new gift to give to people. I used my Gypsy and cut the image to fit a 12x12 paper, it only needed about 12x6 or so. Perfect! Check out Emma's blog at Throwback Thursday
