#227 El Cucuy Blog Hop -Scary Treat Box

Hi everyone!!! Welcome to El Cucuy AKA Boogie man Blog Hop, hosted by Celeste  and Yolie! If you are here from Ruthie September Ninth then you are in the right spot! I was so happy and excited to be a part of this fun hop, I guess it brings back spooky memories of my childhood when my mom and grandma would threaten me and say the cucuy is coming to get me if I don't behave! Well guess what now we tell our 4 year old son that.... I know you probably think it's child abuse by telling them that but it works! When I catch my son stepping foot in my  scrapbook room, I say "Uh-oh Cucuy!" and he will literally run out of there and leave my stuff alone. I tell him this because I have caught him drawing on my layouts that take me 3 hours to create, or grabbing my scissors, or grabbing my inks ugh!!! Sometimes 4 year olds have a mind of their own!

For my Cucuy monster I decided to make him a scary Jack-O-Lantern, I cut the pumpkin from the October 31st seasonal cartridge... I LOVE that cart BTW!!!! The treat box is from the Spring Holiday Cards Seasonal Cricut cartridge. I am going to have a pumpkin carving party at my house next week and I am making an assortment of treat boxes to give out to my guests and I made this one for one of the guys, I guess my hubby approved because he loved this one! (my son not so much, I think he was spooked by the scary pumpkin!) This stamp is from Crafty Sprouts "Totally Witchn" stamp set and I also added a little green slime with my MS Drippy- Goo punch!

BLOG CANDY ALERT!!!!! I am giving away ONE Crafty Sprouts "Let's Go Blog Hopping"  stamp set to ONE lucky follower who leaves me a comment below and also on my POST #212, I will announce a random winner this Monday Oct. 24th!!

#169 Happy Haunting Vampire Card

Hi everyone I had so much fun making this time consuming card LOL but definately worth it! First off I punched the enitre border with the bat MS punch. Then I stamped blood droplets on the red paper but you can't really see them because I embossed the red paper with my new Tim Holtz embossing folder which I love! I inked the embossed portion with distress ink. I cut the window frame and put the leftover bats in it from the border punch. The window frame and the drippy goo shape where I stamped my sentiment are from October 31st. Mr. Vampire guy is Happy Hauntings I cut his body parts on white paper since he is DEAD then put a little put of Antique Linen (light tan color ink) on him to give him some color but not enough to make him look alive. I stamped his face with Peachy Keen and gave him some blood droplets because he just ate someone....I wanted to put a dead body in the window seal but then I thought some people my be scared of my card LOL! I also distressed the outer edges of my card where the bats are.

#168 Spooky Evil Card

***This is my 2nd post scroll down for more***
Here's a spooky/pretty card I made for my sister. It was funny because I let my sister's pick which Halloween card they wanted any my sister Patty chose this one, it was so funny because I knew she was going to pick this one and I old her I secretly made it for her LOL! The spooky house on the hill, and the skull and bones are from the October 31st cart I highly recommend getting that one! The headless guy on the horse is from Happy Hauntings, I embossed the background paper with my cuttlebug, and punched out some drippy goo from a MS punch, did some distressing and I made 2 handmade black paper roses. I also stamped the sentiment from a MS stamp and added some lace on the bottom. Be sure to scroll down and see my cute softball girl card with an extra special sentiment Thanks!

#151 and #152 Halloween/Fall Blog Hop here!! Blog Candy Too!

This banner is about 5 feet long it fits perfectly over my NON-working fireplace LOL!

You can win these stamps!! Just leave me a comment on which cartridge you are going to buy next! You do not have to be a follower allthough I do welcome all newcomers!

Hey ladies welcome to our Halloween and Fall Blog Hop!! If you are here from Lorraine's blog you are in the right spot. If you would like to start from the beginning at Stephanie's Blog Always Crafting click HERE.  I created this Halloween banner from cutting scallop squares on black cardstock at 10 inches or so.  I cut the varies pumpkin faces and the Trick or Treat  sign from the Pumpkin Carvings cartridge I cut all of these on 8.5x11 orange cardstock. I used my Gypsy to measure them up correctly. I punched holes on each side of the scallop squares so that I can tie my orange spiderweb ribbon into bows. This banner was about the same size as my fireplace....about 5 feet or so and it was very easy to create!

For my graveyard Halloween card I challenged myself to make a card with a color I don't use that much...gray!  I was inspired by a cemetary at night, with a gray foggy sky. The ghost and two round headstones are from Paper doll Dress Up. The cross headstone is from October 31st. I stamped the face with a Peachy Keen stamped, stamped the tree and stamped the sentiment, and I also did some faux stitching and added a pop dot to the ghost. I also added a border strip from the MS Drippy goo punch.

Lastly, I would like to thank Stephanie for hosting this blog hop and for choosing me to be one of the 11 stops! She was sponsored by scrapadabadoo and we have a grand prize which is a Tim Holtz On The Edge Die, signed by him and a Kaiser Craft Paper Pack called Jades Garden. To be qualiied for the grand prize you MUST leave a comment on all 11 blogs.  For my blog candy give away which is a set of Fiskars/So much Thanks clear Stamp set you must leave me a comment, you do not have to be a follower to win, allthough all newcomer's are welcome! I want to make it fun, leave me a comment and tell me which cartridge you are going to buy next....I'll start....I want to buy the new cartridge called Birthday Bash!! Now for your next stop.....Jess have fun and remeber to leave comments on all blogs to win the grand prize an autographed Tim Holtz die!!

#148 Danger haunted ghost house card *****NEWS FLASH*******

Hey everyone I have some awesome news for you!! Today (October 2nd) was my son's 3rd birthday Happy Birthday Aidan! Also I was selected to be a Fall Designer at Inking it up Crazy Kassidy is so sweet to have picked me I was so very super excited and happy yay! She also chose 5 other designers for her Fall DT, she will be posting our projects every other week. Here is a card I made for her blog she wanted us to do a pumpkin theme this week. My inspiration for this card was actually from a show that I am obsessed with called "True Blood" it's about vampires. This house from the October 31st cartridge reminds me of Bill compton's house....a character. So I made it a very spooky bloody torture house beware because there are haunting pumpkins in front (Doodlecharms) and bloody ghost (stamps) and blood dripping everywhere (MS Drippy goo punch), there is also a haunted moon (Plantin Schoolbook) with an evil witch(Stamps) flying over the house!!! I made an opening on the door so you can see the bloody ghost when you open it. The other fantastic news is I will be part of a Blog Hop going on right here tommorow October 3rd at 8am EST. I will be giving out blog candy to one lucky winner, there will be 10 stops and many chances to win more blog candy I hope everyone can make it!!

#142 Spooky Drippy Candle Card

I made this Halloween card for the BBTB2Challenge which is to make a project with the drippy candle from my favorite Halloween cart, October 31st! I welded the zig zag shaped square from Gypsy Wanderings to make a 5x5 card. I also cut it in 2 more colors and did some stamping, and added two green buttons to the left side. I am also entering this card to Getting Cricky for the Halloween challenge.

#137 Scary Scarecrow Card

For this week at  Paper Playtime everyone is asked to make any project with the theme "Autmn" in mind, you may translate this in any way. We were sponsored by Robyn's Fetish Digi stamps/papers. I chose to use a Halloween Digi Paper that was my very 1st time using a digi patterened paper I have to say it was pretty cool! The orange background paper was the digi paper, the marquee and the oval tag are from Gyspy Wanderings, the very scary scarecrow in from the October 31st cartridge. Instead of cutting him completely out....which my cricut doesn't do so well with detail cuts....anyways I went over the small detailed parts with a black marker, so in a way it kinda looks like a stamp. I embossed the Marquee with my cuttlebug and inked it with white Dew Drop ink. I stamped the sentiment which says "Happy Haunting" and colored in with an orange marker and added stickles. I also inked the edges with black chalk ink.

#135 Eeek! Black Widow Card

Yesterday morning I went to the Dollar Tree and got a package of already cut foil to try embossing in my Cuttlebug. I originally thought of this from shopping on Oh My Crafts, they sell metal for embossing and I was thinking hey, foil could work and it did! I embossed the entire silver background (the Foil) with a skull scroll embossing folder that I got on clearance at Oh My Crafts, the scary black widow is from the October 31st cart I added 4 pieces of red bling on it to look like a real black widow. Unfortunately I know exactly what they look like because I get them scary suckers in my back yard and my front yard since I live in the dry/hot part of So. California =( I'd rather buy Cricut Cartridges then pay for an exterminator.....that is sad I am risking my life for Cricut Carts!LOL, Luckily there's Raid and thats cheap!! Oh and another tip, I tried cutting the foil with my paper trimmer and it ripped! So make sure to trim with your scissors!!

#126 Spooky Pumpkin Patch Card

For Momo's challenge this week it is to make something with black and white and any color of our choice. I made a spooky pumpkin patch card from the october 31st cartridge I love how scary that one is! I didn't want to make this too girly because I'm thinking of giving it to my hubby, what do you think too girly? Is it manly enough? I might make another one instead not sure yet. The black paper was embossed with my Cuttlebug, the pumpkins and the sign are from OCT 31st instead of punching out the letters I drew in the letters with a black marker, sometimes my cricut doesn't cut fine stuff correctly and I get mad!! I did some inking with my Frayed Burlap distress ink and stamped the sentiment and colored it in and I added a brad on the sign.

#115 Vampire Territory LO (40:31 Creations Challenge)

I made this  LO for Lauren's Halloween challenge at 40:31 Creations, this is my first time submitting a challenge at her blog....hopefully I win the awesome candy LOL!  So the first thing I did was look through my paper pile and I found this patterened paper with a haunted house and a moon design. I made this LO look like the Vampire's live there and that's why I called it "Vampire Territory".....I've been watching too much True Blood and Twighlight LOL! The word Vampire is from Mini Monster's, Territory is from Lyrical Letters, the daddy vamp and baby vamp are from Paper doll Dress up, the bats and the drippy goo are from the new October 31st cartridge. I know everyone's going to being asking how did I do that so here it goes.... The drippy goo is actually a cut that says "Velcome" it is a diamond shaped sign with drippy goo on top and botttom of it, so I used my Gypsy to weld 2 together and I scooted them both all the way up on my mat screen so it only left about 2 1/2 inches showing, but the originial size says 6 inches. The small blood droplets are from A child's year, they are rain drops and I hid the slit with my Gypsy. I hope I didn't confuse you too much, if I get enough request I will post a photo tutorial and the drippy goo.
Continuing... the "eek" sign and the "I want candy...Blood" are from the DCVW stack and I just cut out the little squares. Notice the bick of my son licking his lips that's why I crossed out the "candy" part and wrote "blood". I just couldn't stop laughing while making this layout I was evening talking in Vampire language to son while making it. I hope you like it, my husband loved it so much because I made it scary just for him and my son Aidan. This was Halloween 2008 and my son just learned how to walk a few days before Halloween perfect for Trick or Treating!
