Hello everyone welcome to The Love At First Sight Blog Hop hosted by me! This is my first time hosting a hop all by myself I feel all grown up now LOL! I had the idea for the hop to celebrate a few things... first of all I would like to celebrate the anniversary of the date my hubby Ricky and I first met on February 2, 2003 it really was Love At First Sight! Really!! I knew I wanted to be with him forever from the moment I saw him, and he felt the same way about me too! So 1 year later we got married, we got married on Febraury 28th, 2004 in Viva Las Vegas woo-hoo!! Yep a lot of people thought we weren't going to last since we were young and since we got married in Vegas, boy did we prove them wrong! This hop is very special to me because my hubby just got back from Iraq last week and he was gone for a total of 5 long months so I said we are going to celebrate every single holiday since he missed out on the big holidays over the last months. We are also celebrating Valentine's Day. So I asked all of these wonderful talented ladies to join me in my triple celebration in this Lovely Love Month Of Febraury by making a Love-Themed gift for someone we love. Some of us will be sharing pictures of us with the person we are creating the gifts for. Here is one of Ricky and I at the Marine Corps. Ball in '05. I love this picture it came out better then the photographers picture!
Here are the projects I made for my hubby (well except for one it's kind of girly LOL!)
Here's a picture frame I made with American Craft's paper, glossy modge podge, the owls and sentiment are from Hoot N Holler Cricut Lite. The faces are both from Peachy Keen Stamps, Critter Faces and Simple Simons. That's me and my honeybun!
This digi is from a brand new digi company called Kich N Bleus Design's. I colored it with Bic markers, stamped the sentiment with PKS and the talk bubble is from Gyspy Wandering. Thank you Kich N Bleus (Abby & Kich) for sponsoring this digi for my hop!
This digi is from Digital Delights by Louby Loo she is called Polly Pippin In Love the sentiment is also from DDLL. I colored her with Prismacolor pencils, and embossed with my Cuttlebug. Thank you to Digital Delights by Louby Loo for sponosring this digi!
Now for some awesome celebration BLOG CANDY!! I am giving away 8 PRIZES so that means you have 8 chances to WIN!! All you have to do is be a follower if you haven't already and tell me what your plans are for Valentine's Day!

We will surprise the kids with a special treat and homemade card.
ReplyDeleteAlready your follower =) Hmmm for Valentines we really wanted to have a date night, but it falls on a not so good day for us. So we have decided to move our Valentines to the last weekend of february. Then my little boy will be at his dads =)

cute projects and wow creating something every day that is a task good luck with it. ReplyDeleteI love that you and your husband are so romantic! Your projects are so cute as well. This year my husband and I will make a special card for one another. We make the cards as a way to say to each other what a lot of store bought cards cannot. Also for my two children I will make them each a special "I Luvvers You" basket with a card I will make along with a small gift.
ReplyDeleteYour projects are fabulous! Thanks to you and your hubby for your sacrifices. Glad he's home safe, certainly something to celebrate! I'm a follower now, can't wait to see more!

ReplyDeleteI am so glad to have found your blog!!!
ReplyDeleteI have never celebrated Valentine's Day because it is my Grandma's birthday!
This year I work so we will be visiting my Grandma on the weekend.
This amazing woman will be 91 this year. She has been through so much lately and we all have a fear that this will be the last year for her to spend with her loving husband of 66 years. My Grandpa most likely will not make it til next year.
I enjoy spending each year with her...love hearing her stories!

ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary!!! :)
I love your projects! You are such an inspiration!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you for sharing so many!
I love celebrating Valentine's Day (truth be told, we are always finding little reasons to celebrate & don't just wait for the big holidays)! We usually set a small gift by our children's breakfast plates (I'm behind this year, but last year we got heart-shaped chocolate boxes from See's and the year before we used Valentine Beanie Babies!) and make pink, heart-shaped pancakes! My children are still young enough (6 & 8) that I usually get to volunteer at their school parties (what fun!) and then we have a special, candle-lit dinner with heart-shaped creme brulee with raspberries for dessert (I usually will make a decadent heart-shaped chocolate cake, too)!
Thank you so much for sharing and for the chance to win (you can never have enough stamps! ;)!
Crafty hugs,
Jennifer

I'm afraid Valentine's Day will be subdued at my house this year! My hubby and I usually go out, but this year our daughter will be home. She and her very serious boyfriend just broke up, so I don't think we'll "celebrate" quite like we usually do.

Happy Anniversary my son will celebrate 12 years on valentines day. This is a great project thanks for sharing. karen_schluter at hotmail dot com
ReplyDeleteGreat projects. No specific Valentine's plan other than we may go out to eat on the weekend.
ReplyDeleteusername at yahoo dot com
My Valentine's day will be spent working 12 hours. I'm a pharmacy technician...so my co-workers will have to be my valentines this year. I have some cute favor bags using TBBM, so I'm excited to give them their goodies. My boyfriend and I usually don't celebrate Valentines day (we've both had some really bad experiences) so I'm ok with working :)

For V day, my hubby and i will probably just have dinner since i'm still recovering from my surgery.
Great hop! Congrats girlie, you pulled it off!!
I want to say I'm a follower. Thank you to your husband for his service. I am married to a NAVY sailor myself. I must say I know what you mean about celebrating the holidays. My husband was gone for a 13 1/2 long months period of time to which I decorated certain parts of the house to represent the holidays he missed. You could say the house was a bit confusing but the time we spent celebrating each one was priceless. Congratulations on your anniversary. I must say your projects are wonderful.

I am glad your hubby is home safe and sound. I thank him for serving our country. :) Congrats on your upcoming anniversary. My hubby and I got married young too and after dating for only 3 months. No one thought we would last either but 16 years and 3 kids later we are still so much in love. I hope you and your hubby find the same lasting happiness. My Valentines Day will be spent (hopefully) preparing for State Wrestling (if my son qualifies). Fingers crossed!!
ReplyDeleteYour projects are great. TFS
